First Presbyterian Church of River Forest Hosts Community Blood Drive On April 24

RIVER FOREST, Ill. - April 11, 2023 - PRLog -- The First Presbyterian Church of River Forest will host a community blood drive with the American Red Cross on Monday, April 24, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at 7551 Quick Avenue, River Forest. You may sign up online at redcrossblood.org with sponsor code FIRSTPRESRF.

According to the American Red Cross, there is an urgent need for blood and platelet donors. Every day, blood donors help patients of all ages: accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those battling cancer.

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Donors of all blood types are needed. According to the Red Cross, type O negative is the universal blood type that can be safely transfused to anyone, and is often used to treat trauma patients.
