CCIA announces selected companies for the 2023 Mining Cleantech Challenge

DENVER - April 17, 2023 - PRLog -- The Colorado Cleantech Industries Association (CCIA) has announced the 12 technology companies selected to present at the seventh annual Mining Cleantech Challenge (MCC). Finalists were selected from an international pool of 33 applicants.

The Mining Cleantech Challenge is one in a series of Cleantech Challenge technology scouting programs that connect large industry partners directly to innovative clean technology solutions. Submissions were reviewed, applicants vetted, and program sponsors selected 12 companies as finalists to present during the program. Finalists will pitch their technologies to major mining companies and investors represented by the program partners.

CCIA developed the Mining Cleantech Challenge in partnership with an internationally recognized team of industry leaders, including Sumitomo Corporation of the Americas, Newmont Mining, Royal Gold, Fresnillo, Anglo American, the Colorado School of Mines, the Consulate General of Canada in Denver, Clareo Partners, the Office of Economic Development and International Trade, and the Colorado Energy Office.

"Congratulations to the companies that have been selected to present at the 2023 Mining Cleantech Challenge. This is a significant accomplishment given the caliber and competitiveness of this year's applicant pool," said Mary Austin, CCIA's executive director. "This was one of the most internationally diverse sets of technology applications to date in our Mining Cleantech Challenge series, with applicants from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, India and the USA."

The 2023 call for applications asked for companies capable of working on issues related to advanced materials and chemicals, biological solutions, blockchains, cyanide destruction and/or cyanide regeneration processes for slurries or solutions, electrification or battery applications, energy efficiency, machine learning, methane and nox gas detection or control, mercury abatement and/or removal processes, pre-concentration, plant solutions, process solutions, production efficiency, production management, remote/distributed power, remote operation or automation of machinery, remote sensing, resource characterization, and mine planning, scale mitigation/prevention, slurry and/or dirty solution filtration, tailings/waste handling and disposal, underground mining alternate energy options and water.

The Mining Cleantech Challenge will be held on April 20, 2023 in Denver, Colorado.
