Women Leading the Change
The first session of the summit, "The Conversation of Change: Addresses the Challenges that Women Encounter When Building a Career," takes place from 10:30am to 11:00am EST. The discussion will be led by Jo Laucirica, Customer Success Operations Lead at Health. Joanna Laucirica is an experienced professional with over 10 years of project management experience in the healthcare technology industry. The session will explore efforts to advance Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in the tech industry and the experiences of women.

Highlighting the Urgent Need to Address DEIB in the Tech Industry

The topic of advancing Diversity, Equality, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in the tech industry and the experiences of women is a crucial one. According to the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT), women hold only 25% of computing-related jobs, despite making up more than half of the overall workforce.

Additionally, women are more likely to experience bias and discrimination in the workplace, with a recent study by Pew Research Center finding that 42% of women in the tech industry report experiencing discrimination. These statistics highlight the importance of discussions such as "The Conversation of Change" summit session.

"We are thrilled to bring together women in STEM for our second annual Women to Watch Summit," said Tyrone Taborn, CEO and CCO of Career Communications Group.
