Celebrate Mother's Day with a purpose at the Mother's Day Purple Brunch for Lupus awareness

BARATARIA, Trinidad & Tobago - May 1, 2023 - PRLog -- Barataria, Trinidad - Ivy's by Chef Mic is pleased to announce the Mother's Day Purple Brunch in honour of Lupus awareness month on May 8th, 2023, from 11 AM to 2 PM. This event will take place at Ivy's by Chef Mic, located at 34 Jogie Rd, Barataria, Trinidad.

The Mother's Day Purple Brunch is a fundraising event that seeks to raise awareness and support for those affected by Lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects more than 1.5 million Americans, primarily women. In Trinidad and Tobago, it is estimated that approximately 3,500 people live with Lupus. The event will feature a delicious brunch menu with an upscale twist on Trinidadian cuisine, and a silent auction with items donated by local businesses and supporters.

"We're excited to bring the Mother's Day Purple Brunch to Barataria and raise awareness for Lupus in Trinidad and Tobago," said Chef Michel Peters, owner of Ivy's by Chef Mic and a native of Trinidad. "As a restaurant that cares deeply about our community, we are proud to support this important cause and make a difference in the lives of those affected by Lupus."

Chef Mic has recently suffered the loss of his wife and stepdaughter to Lupus. "This event is very personal to me," said Chef Mic. "I lost my wife and stepdaughter to this disease, and I'm committed to doing everything I can to raise awareness and support for Lupus. My youngest daughter still lives on with this disease and together we keep the memory of her mother and sister alive. I hope that the Mother's Day Purple Brunch will inspire others to get involved and make a difference."
