The Center for Contemporary Art 2023 Members' Juried Exhibition

BEDMINSTER, N.J. - June 23, 2023 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art ("The Center") is pleased to announce its Members' Juried Exhibition, an opportunity for members to showcase their artwork in any and all media. The variety and range of entries is a testament to the diversity and creativity of The Center's community of artists. There are seventy-five works of art by members in painting, printmaking, charcoal, ink, graphite, pastel, fiber, photography, mixed media, ceramics, and more.

The Juror for this year's exhibition was Jessica Melillo. Melillo explains in her Juror statement, "The submissions were eclectic and substantive, displaying great technique in various mediums. It was especially enjoyable to witness not only the wide range and variety of talent but also to get a glimpse of where each artist was on their individual journey."

In 2021 Melillo launched Somerset Hills Art Collective (SHAC), showcasing local artists exhibiting their love for the area through their work. She carefully oversees all aspects of the organization, while collaborating with others to advance arts and culture throughout NJ's Somerset Hills.

The Best of Show Award was presented to Agnes Golen (Watchung, NJ) for her fiber work, Masked Self-Portrait; the Solo Exhibition Award and Honorable Mention went to Barbara Wallace (Elizabeth, NJ) for her sculpture, Line Dance. Additional Honorable Mentions were received by Vimala Arunachalam (Plainsboro, NJ), Doris Ettlinger (Hampton, NJ), Carolyn Evans (Bedminster, NJ), Linda Lam (Bridgewater, NJ), and Sul Lee Lee (Fort Lee, NJ).
