Resource Central Announces New Marketing CoordinatorThe innovative nonprofit that supports sustainability by encouraging people to donate building materials proudly welcomes Katie O'Malley to the team.
By: Resource Central A graduate of Northern Arizona University, O'Malley studied environmental science and has worked for several environmental organizations over the years. She gradually took on marketing roles to raise awareness of the causes she was passionate about, like promoting sustainability. In joining Resource Central, she will combine her passion for the outdoors with her skills in marketing. "What appealed to me most about Resource Central was the fact that our programs make conservation feel effortless," O'Malley is looking forward to furthering Resource Central's mission by educating people on how they can become more environmentally aware. "My current focus is helping to build and support the materials reuse program," O'Malley said. "There is so much possibility there, not to mention an opportunity for more community involvement. I'd also like to create more recognition for and connection to our other programs." Some of O'Malley's short-term goals include enhancing signage throughout the facility, keeping up with communications, and installing an AV sound system. As for long-term goals, she plans on developing more community opportunities through workshops, events, and DIY/art competitions. Along the way, she'll be spreading the word via the organization's email and social media channels. About Resource Central Established in 1976, Resource Central has since helped more than 700,000 people reduce waste, conserve energy, and save water.
