Murphy Law Firm Investigates Legal Claims on Behalf of the approximately 769,000 whose Personal Information was Exposed in the Data Breach involving CalPERS
OKLAHOMA CITY - June 28, 2023 - PRLog -- Murphy Law Firm is investigating claims on behalf of all individuals whose personal and confidential information was potentially compromised in the data breach involving California Public Employees' Retirement System ("CalPERS"). On June 6, 2023, CalPERS learned that unauthorized actors had gained access to its customers sensitive information. The unauthorized access occurred through the use of the MOVEit transfer tool used by CalPERS' third-party service provider, PBI Research Services. According to a forensic investigation, it was determined that the cybercriminals accessed and even downloaded files containing the stored personal information of approximately 769,000 individuals. The personal information accessed and downloaded by cybercriminals in the data breach, includes:
  • Names
  • Social Security numbers
  • Dates of birth
