Follow on Google News | Tampa Filmmaker and Community-Based Cast Celebrate Short Film Being Selected to Play at the OIFFWhat started as a local filmmaker's way to pull together community members during COVID lockdowns turns into a film series with a chapter nominated for a festival award and selected for screen time.
By: Not applicable "I am having a super proud parent moment with my cinematic child, as well as my son who stars in the film," said Antony Capers, after hearing the news the short was not just nominated for an award, but selected for screening. "I want to say thank you to my co-writer Annette Simmons-Brown who helped pen a successful script and thanks to the whole Grand Hampton the Movie team, including the more than 60 cast members of 'Supra Vita' and the entire Grand Hampton community." The announcement is another nod to the success of a small project that started during COVID lockdowns and has grown to a film series that is made with community volunteers within the Grand Hampton neighborhood where Capers lives and produces the series. "We have a lot to be proud of," said Capers of the cast and crew. "Filmed with only a $7K budget, it has no celebrity figures, and no high-end special effects or production team. I created the soundtrack with no famous musicians or well-known songs. This movie has been made possible by the passion for writing a good story and a community coming together to support each other and find creativity in chaos. Now, we're showing in the Orlando International Film Festival." The entire series can be watched on Capers' YouTube channel, "Grand Hampton the Movie" at https://www.youtube.com/@ For more information: Antony Capers | Filmmaker 813-895-7979 www.antonycapers.com End
