RICHMOND, Va. - July 7, 2023 - PRLog -- The U.S. Bureau of Justice Statistics (https://bjs.ojp.gov/content/pub/pdf/msfp0118st.pdf) reports a 44% increase in the number of deaths in state prisons in recent years. According to the National Institute of Justice in the United States (NIJ), the presence of contraband inside correctional facilities, such as weapons, drugs, and alcohol poses a serious security concern for correctional facilities.

Security measures are being implemented at correctional facilities across the country and turning to body scanners. The use of body scanners provides staff with valuable tools for detecting contraband items on individual bodies without invading their personal space, enhancing both the staff's and inmates' safety.

One of LINEV Systems' longest-standing customers, the Virginia Department of Corrections, completed an expansion project for contraband interdiction to include two mobile security screening checkpoints, mattress scanners, and dual-view full-body scanners.

Innovation In Full-Body X-Ray Screening

CONPASS and CONPASS SMART DV lead the market in the United States as the most widely deployed transmission X-ray screening systems. Utilizing True Dual View technology, the systems provide unparalleled imaging of the most important body part for inspection - the torso. Having the industry's only automatic detection software, DruGuard, LINEV Systems' body scanners give operators the tools and confidence to quickly and accurately intercept dangerous contraband.

The CONPASS and CONPASS Smart DV advanced screening systems are designed to detect many potential threats. These systems can detect explosives in liquid or solid form, as well as weapons such as guns and knives. The CONPASS and CONPASS Smart DV are also equipped to detect electronic devices, such as cell phones, and drugs. They can even detect ceramic and plastic items. These powerful systems are essential for the fight against terror and are recognized under the US Department of Homeland Security as an anti-terrorism technology and as such, they promote peace, security, and stability in our communities.
