Recovery From Food Addiction Success Story In the 8th Podcast Episode from The INFACT School

REYKJAVIK, Iceland - July 30, 2023 - PRLog -- In the eighth episode of Food Addiction: The Problem And The Solution, from the International School For Food Addiction Counseling and Treatment (INFACT) sponsored by the Food Addiction Institute (FAI), host Susan Branscome talks with a recovered food addict, Sonja B.

Sonja B. has maintained a 100-pound weight release through abstaining from eating sugar, wheat, processed foods and compulsive behaviors around food. At the age of 20, Sonja went into treatment for alcohol addiction and became sober. However, Sonja's use of food continued after becoming sober. She realized she was using food in the same way she used alcohol, as a substance which triggered a dopamine response in her brain leading to substance addiction.

Sonja has a message for fellow suffering food addicts, "Life can be different, and we do not need to use food to escape. We need not be imprisoned by our addiction and compulsive behaviors with food."
