Follow on Google News | The Winston School of Short Hills Receives Grant from The Summit Foundation to Enrich Speaker SeriesBy: The Winston School of Short Hills As a recipient of the grant, The Winston School received $7,500 to enrich its renowned Speaker Series. The Speaker Series is a vital component of the School's commitment to engage and support the School's community and beyond with relevant topics in education and special education. To kickstart the re-launch of Winston's Speaker Series, The Winston School enlisted the expertise of Cindy Goldrich, Ed.M., ADHD - CCSP. Cindy presented a program entitled "Top Ten Strategies for Parenting Kids With ADHD and Executive Function Challenges" to Winston's current parents, alumni parents, and outside specialists on May 4th, 2023. In addition to the evening presentation, Cindy led a professional development workshop on May 5th, 2023 entitled "Social & Emotional Impact of ADHD and Executive Function Challenges on Students" for Winston's faculty and staff. Thanks to the grant, The Winston School will be able to extend the benefits of this program further. Three faculty members, Jenna Newell, Gail Wunsch, and Ryan Stander, will have the opportunity to participate in Ms. Goldrich's Train-the-Trainer Academy. After completing the program, they will be licensed providers of PTS Coaching, LLC's ADHD Professional Development Trainer Academy. With these certifications, Winston's goal is to have the School's faculty members train additional teachers both at Winston and at other schools. The Winston School is immensely grateful to The Summit Foundation for its support in educating and empowering Winston families, the community, and teachers on the vital topics of ADHD and executive functioning that many of Winston's families deal with. This grant has made it possible to provide essential resources and certifications, ensuring the best possible support for students with ADHD and executive function challenges.
