Better Together, Grace Baptist Church to host Aug. 10 community job and resource fair

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Aug. 1, 2023 - PRLog -- Better Together and Grace Baptist Church are partnering to host a community job fair for Gardner-area residents from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 10.

The church-based job fair not only connects job seekers with local employers who are ready to hire, but also provides resources to facilitate stronger connections and more hires. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are also available to job seekers to review resumes and interviewing skills. Services from KC Scholars, The Hope Market and Soul Care Services LLC will also be onsite.

Participating employers include AbleLight, AdventHealth Ottawa, Amazon Fulfillment-MCI7, Capitol Federal, ColdPoint Logistics, Company Kitchen, EPIC Landscape Productions, FedEx Ground, Gardner Police Department, Impact Workforce Solutions, Indra Air Traffic Inc., Johnson County Park and Recreation District, Kansas Behavior Supports, KidsTLC, KVC Health Systems, Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital, Olathe Health, Spring Hill School District, U.S. Army, Gardner Edgerton Schools and Westlake Ace Hardware.

The community job fair is part of Better Together's "Better Jobs" program, which has helped 39,000 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 22 states. At job fairs hosted by Better Together, two-thirds of attendees get a job interview, and 1 in 4 receive a job offer on the spot. Some 70% find work within six weeks.

The Aug. 10 job fair will take place at Grace Baptist Church, located at 650 E. Madison St. in Gardner. Job seekers and employers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/Events/Gardner-JF or by texting "JOBS" to 844-987-3949.

Better Together is a nonprofit organization that helps parents going through a hard time keep their kids out of foster care, find work and address the root causes of their struggle so that they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system to thrive.
