Keyboard redefined by Emokeys
BALTIMORE - Aug. 4, 2023 - PRLog -- Taliyah Huang, a second-year biomedical engineering student at Johns Hopkins University, recently announced Emokeys, a 3D-printed gadget she designed and built herself that offers a new way to input emoji. Currently, emoji can only be inputted by a virtual keyboard displayed on-screen, with no physical alternative.

"It's a mechanical keyboard for emoji, with unlimited possibilities," says Taliyah. "And, there's Discord mode, where custom emotes can be summoned by each mini display."

Emokeys is not for sale but was created as a one-of-a-kind technology, where the CAD, code, and circuit diagram build files are open source online to inspire other young people about engineering and innovation. For more information, please see the Youtube video produced by Taliyah here. With the introduction of Emokeys, we can expect a new generation of keyboards that facilitate emoji to become even more widespread in online communication.
