Islamic Ats Society Gala 2023 was held in Houston last night

HOUSTON - Aug. 8, 2023 - PRLog -- The Islamic Arts Society wishes to clarify that some of the statements issued from the podium at our IAS 2023 gala last night did not represent our values. The Islamic art society is an apolitical organization, and our mission is to share the rich heritage of Islamic arts in order to bring people together. We respect diversity and inclusion and wish everyone well, and specifically do not take a stance on foreign political issues. We wish to apologize to anyone whose feelings might have been hurt.
Islamic Arts Society aims to share the rich heritage of Islamic Arts. The society organizes events to celebrate our culture and promote the positive image of the Muslim community amongst the community at large. Art is a common language and binds diverse communities. By promoting Islamic arts, we hope to promote mutual understanding and to bring the broader American community together.
For the last 10 years, the Islamic Arts Society has been sharing the rich heritage of Islamic arts. By celebrating and promoting Islamic arts, we are aiming to promote mutual understanding, enhance cultural harmony, and promote a positive image of Islam and Muslims in the USA. We have collaborated with premier institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Asia Society, Rice University, Interfaith Ministries, and the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs, to bring quality art exhibitions and programs to Houstonians. Through our library, school, and college outreach programs we have touched thousands more in the Greater Houston area.
