. On or about March 14, 2023, BrightSpring detected unusual activity on its internal network, indicating a data breach. Based on an investigation BrightSpring confirmed that cybercriminals gained access to its systems and potentially acquired the sensitive personal information of at least 535,203 individuals. The personal information compromised in the data breach, includes:
- Names
- Addresses
- Social Security numbers
- Dates of birth
As a result of the data breach, these individuals' personal and highly sensitive information may be in the hands of cybercriminals who can place the information for sale on the dark web or use the information to perpetrate identity theft.
