LANCASTER, Pa. - Aug. 18, 2023 - PRLog -- New Orleans native Beverly Conklin (BC) began playing the piano by ear at age 3, leading to 13 years of classical training throughout high school. Upon completion of graduate school at Penn State, she moved to Allentown, PA and was asked to front a blues band, which she named BC & The Blues Crew (now The BC Combo). Conklin's musical inspirations are extremely diverse, encompassing Classical, R&B, Soul, Blues, Rock, Country and more.  In 1998, BC & the Blues Crew advanced to the International Blues Challenge finals in Memphis, TN, a first for a band representing the Billtown Blues Association (Hughesville, PA) to receive this honor.  In 2010, Conklin was very honored to be asked to fill-in for lead singer Mary Dunbar and returned to Memphis to compete with Friar's Point Band in the International Blues Challenge.  While there, they recorded LIVE From Sun Studio, the band's second album. Among her many contributions to her local blues scene, Conklin founded the Woman's Blues Alliance and the Lehigh River Blues Jam.

Now at a pivotal point in her life and career, with keen focus on growth and development, MoMojo Records will be working closely with Conklin to organize and reissue her back catalog. A digital connection of all titles in tandem with a streamlined online presence are in development to maximize visibility and impact in preparation for forthcoming projects, now underway.

The first MoMojo reissue, BC & Lea Live at Godfrey Daniels, emerged from the meeting of Conklin and Lea Gilmore at Pocono Blues Festival.  It is now available on all platforms: https://lnk.to/BCandLealiveatgodfreydaniels.  Additional reissues are forthcoming and will be announced as they become available.

"As a young adult and emerging blues fan, long before joining the music industry professionally, I was a fan of BC and The Blues Crew," says MoMojo Records President, Sallie Bengtson. "What a pleasure to be reconnected last year at the Reading Blues Festival, and to begin work together as fellow female music professionals."

"Perseverance and passion have kept the dream alive, but by being in the right place at the right time to cross paths with MoMojo Records was an extraordinary fate to fill the missing link," says Conklin.  "This partnership brings a joy to prayers answered for a refreshed momentum. I am over the moon elated to have such support. Thank you MoMojo Records with all my heart."
