LANCASTER, Pa. - Sept. 1, 2023 - PRLog -- Paddy Smith began exploring the harmonica at a young age before performing in talent shows and refining his skills beginning at the age of 15. His mother's free tickets to a Rolling Stones concert at Slane Castle, received during a chance encounter with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards in a Dublin pub, provided Smith with his first chance to see a live band. Although the Stones gave a great performance, it was opening act George Thorogood that stole the show for Smith, and his love of blues was born. After performing in venues across Ireland and ultimately moving to the US and performing in Chicago and California, Smith returned to his homeland, where he lives and plays the blues both onstage and off.

His third project, The Devil's Backyard, was self-released in 2022 before being picked up for worldwide distribution by MoMojo Records.  Recorded in Dublin with some of Ireland's best musicians, the session artists are Smith on vocals and harmonica, guitarist Danny Tobin; bassist John Kearns (Béla Fleck); James Delaney on keyboards (Van Morrison); and Jason Duffy on drums (The Corrs).  The album has seven originals and two covers.

"We are pleased to welcome Paddy to MoMojo Records and look forward to sharing his music," says MoMojo Records President, Sallie Bengtson.  "He joins Australia's Damon Smith as our second international artist."

"I am so excited to be releasing my new album, The Devil's Backyard, on MoMojo Records," says Smith.
