She has empowered and supported credentialed interpreters to fully participate in the care experience. Known for her leadership in conducting the first national Job Task Analysis study of the healthcare interpreter profession, she worked relentlessly on developing the CoreCHI and CHI-Spanish credentials. Thanks to Natalya's initiatives numerous initiatives, more than 5,000 professional interpreters nationwide proudly hold CCHI credentials. Natalya's commitment to volunteerism and service is invaluable to the healthcare interpreting profession. In today's healthcare language access landscape, she embodies the work of a language access advocate, ardently ensuring the competence of interpreter practitioners and serving as a catalyst for health equity and patient safety. As her nominators summarized Natalya's dedication, "she assures that the ultimate goal is that disadvantaged patients everywhere have a clear voice and equal access to quality care."
