The US Embassy in India issued a record number of student visas within three months

HYDERABAD, India - Sept. 27, 2023 - PRLog -- New Delhi: On September 25, 2023, the US Embassy in India proclaimed in a social media post that they had achieved a prominent milestone in their US mission in India by issuing 90,000 visas to Indian students within three months. They also stated that "that is almost 30% of student visas issued worldwide".

The USA has always been a top higher education destination for Indian students. Even in the previous year, India outdid China in sending more students to the USA. The US Embassy had to issue 1,25,000 student visas in FY 2022. They acclaimed it as "one out of every five student visas issued in India".

According to the data available in the US Embassy and consulates in India, more than 2,00,000 Indian students are pursuing higher studies at US universities this year. So, in 2023, one out of every four student visas issued in India. Based on this data, Indian students' USA education dreams have a new ray of hope.

They further stated that they had to allot half of their appointments to student visa applicants to ensure that deserving and qualified students could reach their universities on time. As a result, they could achieve the milestone of issuing a record number of student visas within the months of June, July, and August of 2023.
