By: Mysterrio Entertainment Group On October 9th, 2023. Mysterrio and his assistant Miss Direction will be performing alongside a poet from the Wyoming Valley, Bunny Marz, and a comedian from Schuylkill County, Sara Cartwright Everyone is welcome to come see the show and become a part of the magic. Since this is the October show people are encouraged to dress up in costume. Due to his heavy performance schedule, this is one of only two shows Mark Mysterrio will be doing in the Stroudsburg area. "For us on a local level, there are two times this year we get to connect with the public at a no charge event, Pocono Poetry and Spooky Stroudsburg. I hope people take advantage of this wonderful event. Just like other activities, it is only as successful and strong as the community supporting it." Mysterrio noted. Popcorn Poetry is an all-ages welcome, uncensored event for artists of all kinds to come and share their voices and talents. Popcorn Poetry started on June 13, 2022 and has remained a win for our community ever since. "With the rise in budget cuts for extracurricular activities in the arts across the nation, it is important to give young artists a safe and accessible space in which they can share their thoughts and opinions through their art about things that are otherwise not discussed at work, school, or in daily conversations. Popcorn Poetry offers this space thanks to Pocono Cinema." said Event Organizer Brianna Booker. So, what exactly is Popcorn Poetry and why does Mr. Mysterrio and the magic community support it? Simple, Pocono Poetry offers a limited open mic night, where up and coming artists of all kinds can showcase their talent and talk about community and fellowship, followed by an intermission and featured performers like Mysterrio, Marz and Cartwright. This allows younger, less experienced artists and attendees to network. Chuck Curry, Pocono Cinema's Board Of Directors First Chair said "Other than a greatly made film, poetry is something I think everyone should enjoy." https://poconocinema.org End
