Multidisciplinary Artist ADHD (Colin Frangicetto) Unveils Solo Exhibition: "A Noisy Mind"Exploring the Multifaceted Realms of ADHD: A Deeper Dive into the Post-Internet Artistic Landscape
ADHD's artistic expression transcends traditional boundaries, offering a dynamic interplay of quiet and loud elements reminiscent of his 20+ years as a musician (Circa Survive, Psychic Babble, This Day Forward). Chaotic and visceral de-collage pieces coexist harmoniously with delicately overpainted personal photographs. Grand, expressive figurative paintings on canvas adorned with gestural marks and scrawl find their balance with smaller, minimalist abstract works on paper. One of the most experimental pieces in the exhibition, "Constant Companion," features an iPod mounted on a pristine white painting on wood. It endlessly plays the artist's tinnitus tone through headphones for anyone to experience. Distortion pedals, like historical war relics, are painted and mounted on panels alongside decades' worth of collaged hotel key cards, forming intricate grids. Oversized xeroxed photographs of Xanax and Adderall medication bottles are adorned with thousands of meaningful markings, each representing a day since their prescription. Ironically, for an artist renowned for their digital prowess, the exhibition's only digital works are small looping videos comprised of text and screen captures. Despite the potential darkness and anxiety that may arise from this immersive experience, "A Noisy Mind" exudes a consistent sense of levity and tender self-awareness. It beckons visitors closer, gently guiding them through the most daunting moments with a welcoming grin. Exhibition Details:
