Day 1 - Cochin – Thattekad
You'll be met on arrival at Cochin airport and introduced to your driver. Depart immediately and drive around an hour to Thattekad. The bird sanctuary here is one of the most famous in South India- your first foray into the sanctuary will take place late in the afternoon today. Overnight at Hornbill Camp.
Day 2 - Thattekad
An early start for bird watching from 6am at the Thattekad bird sanctuary where around 270 species of migratory and resident birds can be found. After breakfast, head off for kayaking and later cycling through the country side with your guide. Overnight at Hornbill Camp.
Day 3 - Thattekkad - Idukki
Another early start for more bird-watching, then later in the day drive up to Idukki. Overnight stay at Anaerangal Camp.
Day 4 - Idukki
Full day for cycling in the hills around here; overnight at Anaerangal Camp
Day 5 - Idukki
Today's programme is given over to hiking around Anaerangal lake plus birding. Overnight stay at Anaerangal Camp
Day 6 - Idukki - Cochin
Drive back down to Cochin, with departure in the evening.
