By: The Shelter Association of Washtenaw Co On Friday, November 10th, we kick off the week with "Fill That Truck!" This event, held at Kroger on 2641 Plymouth Road from 8 AM to 5 PM, invites the community to make a difference. We encourage donations of new socks, winter coats, and snacks like packaged pretzels and crackers. All contributions go directly to benefiting our clients, providing essential support during the challenging winter months. For more information on what you can donate, click here (http://annarborshelter.org/ Health and Wellness Fair - November 13th, 2 PM - 5 PM at the Delonis Center We invite the community to join us at the Delonis Center for a free Health and Wellness Fair. This event aims to promote healthy lifestyles, prevent, and manage diseases, and connect individuals with vital community resources. Vendors will be present, showcasing their commitment to supporting vulnerable populations. Vendors interested in joining should contact Alondra Burne at burnea@washtenaw.org. Put a Roof on It: Comedy for a Cause - November 16th, Doors Open at 6:00 PM, Show Starts at 7:15 PM Join us on Thursday, November 16th, for "Put a Roof On It: Comedy for a Cause." Hosted by the A2 Comedy Showcase, this uproarious FUNdraiser features the acclaimed comedian, Damien Lemon. Ticket sales, priced at $25, directly benefit the shelter. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the laughter begins at 7:15 PM. The Shelter will also be selling 50/50 raffle tickets during this event, raffle tickets will be 5$. To purchase tickets, navigate to annarborshelter.org/ Walk In My Shoes for Mental Health - Throughout November, Join Our Facebook Group Throughout the month of November, The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County invites the community to participate in "Walk In My Shoes for Mental Health." In Washtenaw County, over 3000 people experience homelessness annually, with 70% of Shelter clients facing mental health issues. This month-long initiative encourages everyone to take a step towards promoting mental health by walking a mile a day.
