The Last Outlaw: Andy Huggins' Early Bird Special Finally Delights Audiences After 45 Years

In an industry known for its youth-centric trends, Andy Huggins, at 73 years young, has boldly stepped into the spotlight to deliver a comedy special that covers over four decades of joke-writing. Andy is a testament to the power of perseverance, resilience, and the timeless appeal of humor.

Huggins' journey includes a memorable appearance on Season 13 of the nationally televised America's Got Talent in 2018, where he captured the hearts of television audiences with his iconic red sweater and old-man innocence. Despite the abrupt dismissal from the show, Andy stuck with it.

Partnering with friend, fellow comedian, and director, Slade Ham, they mobilized fans in a viral crowdsourcing campaign. "There's no way I was going to let a legend's life's work go unrecorded. As a comedian, it seemed like a sacrilege," said Ham when asked why he chose to helm the project.

They took the funds they raised and self-produced the special, and despite advice to make it shorter (even Barry Katz of Last Comic Standing fame told Ham it wouldn't sell unless it came in under a half-hour), the special will finally be distributed at its intended length, including over 200 jokes performed by Huggins.

"Not to sound melodramatic, but this is what I was put on this earth to do," says the 73 year-old humorist.

This odds-defying special invites audiences to celebrate the triumph of a seasoned comedian, proving that laughter is a timeless art form that can connect generations.
