The National Veteran Union Is Calling on The President to Issue an Executive Order That Allow Veterans to Update their Medical Records

There are more than 100k Veterans Whose Injuries Were Never Made a Part of Their Medical Records by a Medic or Doctor, Thus Leading to Their Disability Claim Being Denied!

NEW YORK - Oct. 17, 2023 - PRLog -- "Only when a veteran applies for Compensation and Disability Benefits do they learn there is no service-connected medical records of their injuries, sometimes 5, 10 or 20 years after being processed out of the service.  And when there's no records of a service-connected injury, 99.9% of the time a veteran Compensation and Disability Benefits Claim is denied.

The National Veterans Union is demanding that Mr. Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., the President of the United States and U.S. Military, Commander in Chief, issue an Executive Order that requires the Department of Defense to make a Digital Copy of a Soldier's Medical Records available to them when they are being processed out of the service. This way a Soldier will be able to update their records in real time, whenever their injuries have not been documented by a medic or doctor before being discharged from the service.  Because no soldier should have to find out 20 years later that their injuries while wearing the uniform were never made a part of their medical record.  More than 30% of injuries that occur during Military Exercises go unreported or are not made a part of a soldier's permanent record.

Once a Veteran claim is denied by a Pencil Pusher, an individual with no medical background, a veteran is forced into an Appeal Rabbit Hole, that never ends.   And even when a VA Doctor believes a veteran injury is Service-Connected their findings are discarded! Some Veterans are forced to play detective; by trying to locate people that served with them thus, making the Rabbit Hole even bigger.  Very few are lucky to find someone after 10, 20 or 30 years, it can be an impossible task at times, that no veteran should be asked to do.

As of October 2023, a veteran can obtain a copy of their medical records from the VA.gov website. But that doesn't solve the problem that thousands of veterans are facing.  If a veteran injury was never documented by a medic or doctor the medical records that they download is what the VA will use against them.  The VA Policy is very clear, a veteran injury when it comes to Disability Benefits, must be service-connected, or occurred while on active duty.   Even veterans exit papers are used against them. We all know no soldier, and I mean no soldier fills out all the documents they get when being processed out of the service, because they all believe when they saw a medic or doctor that their injury was automatically documented and made a part of their medical records. And no Veteran should be penalized when a Medic or Doctor fails to do their job!" said Katherine G. Feinstein, The National Veterans Union Chief Counsel.

"Mr. President, you have stated repeatedly, that you support veterans. Well, now is the time to prove it. Issue an Executive Order that will protect veterans, so when their injury forces them to file a Compensation and Disability Benefits Claim, the failure of a Medic or Doctor should not prevent a soldier from receiving Compensation and Disability Benefits.

Executive Orders:
  1. All Military personnel leaving the service shall be given a Digital Copy of their Medical Records.
  2. All Injuries occurring during Military Exercises shall be made a part of a Soldier Permanent Medical Records within 48 hours of a soldier receiving treatment.
  3. Only a Board-Certified Doctor should have the authority to determine a Veteran Injury. No one with a Liberal Arts Degree should be able to overrule a Doctor Findings.  Nor should a Veteran be forced to turn over their Medical Records to a third party.
  4. All Soldiers need to be given the opportunity to review & update their Medical Records Every 12 months!
  5. Notice should be sent to a Veteran 30 days before the VA Deletes their Medical Records from the VA System.
As flawed as America is, we are still the greatest country on the face of the earth… And the men and women that have worn the uniform and those that's wearing it now, do it for one reason, For Love of Country Mr. President, For Love of Country," stated Mr. V. Charles Allen M. II, Founder and Chair of the National Veterans Union; 160k Strong and Growing...
