Disbarment of Baltimore's Marilyn Mosby Sought, AGAIN

Earlier Bar Complaints Led to Discontinuance of Police Prosecutions

WASHINGTON - Nov. 10, 2023 - PRLog -- Following her conviction on two counts of perjury on Thursday, a formal complaint with bar authorities seeking the disbarment of Baltimore's former top prosecutor, Marilyn Mosby, will be filed next week, says public interest law professor John Banzhaf.

Banzhaf had filed several complaints against Mosby in the past, and his complaints against her assistants on similar grounds may have led to the discontinuance of prosecutions of several police officers for the death of Freddie Gray.

The disbarment of Marilyn Mosby by Maryland is long overdue, argues Banzhaf, noting that the Baltimore Sun has suggested that disbarment based upon this new charge is now finally likely.

Banzhaf first formally called for Mosby's disbarment in 2016, citing evidence that she repeatedly violated ethics rules governing the conduct of attorneys in Maryland at almost every turn in the case against the police officers.

While that complaint was pending, he also filed similar complaints against two other attorneys who, under the direction of Mosby, were due to prosecute additional police defendants over the death of Gray.
