About the Author
Growing up in northeastern North Dakota, in a small farming town called Park River on the west side of the Red River Valley, Stephen Sturlaugson spent the majority of his life in southwestern North Dakota, near Carson.
With the assistance of his wife and seven children, Stephen ran an 800-acre small grains and  Angus beef-cattle ranch.
The esteemed author has a Bachelor of Arts degree in philosophy/psychology from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, a Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theology Seminary in Philadelphia, and a Master of Science in Computer Science from North Dakota State University in Fargo. Sturlaugson started working for a rancher and farmer from Carson, ND, who was pivotal in helping his family with land after his retirement.
Sturlaugson kicked off his career as a writer in the 1980s when he was in his thirties. He was featured in several Christian publications. Stephen deems his friend Larry Woiwode as a great influence on his work. Besides Lord of the Harvest, Stephen is also known for his title, Sale Day.
He is currently engaged in a study of Biblical and Christian views of the outdoors.
