Follow on Google News | Prime Allied Limited - Amazon Launches AI Training Program in Response to AI Talent ShortageAmazon (AMZN) is establishing an artificial intelligence (AI) skills training program to assist employees in developing critical skills as organizations face an AI talent shortage.
According to a study conducted by Amazon Web Services and research company Access Partnership, 73% of companies said acquiring AI-skilled people is a priority, yet three-quarters of those businesses said they are unable to satisfy their AI-related workforce demands. Employers have stated that workers will earn up to 47% more if they upskill in AI. McKinsey reports that "the shortage of qualified talent has been a persistent limiting factor in the growth of many high-tech fields, including AI." "If we are going to unlock the full potential of AI to tackle the world's most challenging problems, we need to make AI education accessible to anyone with a desire to learn," Swami Sivasubramanian, AWS's Vice President of Data and AI, said in the release. Amazon is providing free AI and generative AI (GenAI) courses as well as scholarships to over 50,000 high school and university students.
