Woamy launches its first biofoam product for plastic-free packaging with Paptic and Secto Design

ESPOO, Finland - Dec. 4, 2023 - PRLog -- Secto Design, a leader in modern hand-made design lamps, has taken a significant stride towards environmental responsibility by transitioning its Petite product line from fossil-based packaging to sustainable alternatives. This change involves replacing traditional plastic foams with Woamy's bio-based, plastic-free, biodegradable, and recyclable biofoam. Further enhancing their sustainable packaging efforts, Secto Design is also substituting plastic hoods with recyclable materials developed by Paptic®.

Joakim Jusélius, Part Owner and Board Member of Secto Design, expressed his enthusiasm for the shift to plastic-free packaging. The Petite product line, now packaged in an environmentally conscious manner, will be entirely plastic-free starting from February 2024.

Secto Design's commitment to sustainability is further exemplified by their use of PEFC certified local birch in their lamp designs, all handcrafted in Heinola, Finland.

Woamy, an Aalto University spin-out, has introduced a novel ecological cellulose-based biofoam to replace traditional plastic foams.

Paptic Ltd, established in 2015, has developed Paptic®, a recyclable fiber-based material, as a plastic replacement in packaging, contributing to the decrease of plastic usage in the industry.
