Mandeville, Louisiana Citizens form a local PAC

MANDEVILLE, La. - Dec. 12, 2023 - PRLog -- Mandeville citizens announce the formation of MandePAC, L.L.C.  MandePAC will serve as a nonpartisan voice for Mandeville residents with respect to elections and issues within the City of Mandeville. MandePAC was formed to give the citizens of Mandeville a more cohesive voice for all matters in Mandeville. The time is NOW for the citizens of Mandeville to take charge of their own destiny.

MandePAC's initial guiding principles include:

1. Encouraging commercial development that is right-sized for our residential neighborhoods.
2. Fostering grassroots participation in the governance of the City of Mandeville and the formation of public policy.
3. Increasing voter turnout in Mandeville city elections.
4. Safeguarding the residential character of Mandeville neighborhoods.
5. Championing economic growth that supports Mandeville's quality of life and is compatible with our existing community.
6. Supporting candidates for public office and appointed positions that promote these tenets.

Membership in MandePAC is open to all, however, voting managers of MandPAC must be both MandePAC members and residents of the City of Mandeville. MandePac's initial focus will be on the March 2024 city elections with a MandePAC sponsored Candidate Forum scheduled for February 20, 2024 at Frequencies (above Spoke & Barrel). Also crucial to the city, is the upcoming rewrites of the Comprehensive Plan, with the subsequent rewrite of the Comprehensive Land Use Regulation Ordinance (CLURO).

The five founding members of MandePAC, L.L.C. are Van R. Mayhall, Jr., Michele Avery, Greta Perry, Larry Grundmann and Shane Mutter. All are residents of the City of Mandeville and charter members of MandePAC.

Van R. Mayhall, Jr. "It's an honor for me to participate in MandePAC as I only became a full time resident of the City of Mandeville about two years ago. The idea is to serve as a nonpartisan voic of the residents of the city. I couldn't tell you the political party or persuasion of any of the other Managers. And frankly, I don't care as long as we're all focused on improving the city and maintaining its historical residential ambience."

Shane Mutter "As a founding member of MandePAC, I am dedicated to providing a voice of balance in our community from areas of government, the residential community, business, and the environment. As our area continues to experience explosive growth in population and development, it is important to make sure checks and balances are in place so that we do not lose our identity as a quaint town with qualities that brought us to Mandeville."
