Leadership transition at San Jose Chamber of Commerce

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Dec. 14, 2023 - PRLog -- Following a multi-month statewide search, the San Jose Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the appointment of Leah Toeniskoetter as the business advocacy organization's twelfth president and chief executive officer. Simultaneously, Nicholas Adams has been elected chairman of the board. Their tenure will begin January 1.

Leah Toeniskoetter has significant experience successfully launching new initiatives and organizations, shaping public policy, and fostering community impact, making her an exceptional choice to lead the Chamber into a new era. Most recently she was senior manager of social impact at Deloitte and founding director of SPUR San Jose.  Her professional and civic engagement has focused on the intersection of nonprofit, business, and government organizations, aligning with the Chamber's commitment to advance economic growth through convening, collaborating, and championing the San Jose business community. "The Chamber of Commerce supports and speaks for a wide spectrum of businesses, from our favorite locally owned stores that are core to our neighborhoods to Fortune 500 enterprises that drive global change," says Ms. Toeniskoetter. "It is an honor to step into this leadership role in service of our diverse community and to advance the economic vitality of San Jose and beyond."

Nicholas Adams, current board vice chair, has been elected chairman of the board. Mr. Adams, president & ceo of public relations agency NINICO Communications, is a respected executive poised to provide strategic guidance and direction to the Chamber's board. A fourth generation San Josean, his dedication to the business community makes him an asset in shaping the future of the Chamber. He has done award-winning work for brands from Fortune 50 to local small businesses. "It's an honor to be elected chairman of the board to serve an organization that has had a successful impact on my business and our region," says Mr. Adams. "I look forward to working with our board and my friend of over 15 years – Leah – to usher in a new chapter for the Chamber, putting our members first."
