By: Justice for African-Americans Hall (deceased July 2013) Lanardo Myrick lamented that he admitted in U.S. District Court in Kansas City that he conspired between Feb. 12 and July 12, 2001, to steal confidential account information from a Citibank database. Lanardo warned that evidence was omitted and even the indictment was invalided. He stated that his indictment and the co-defendants were different. That difference should have cancelled the conspiracy charge. The scheme involved Morgan and another Citibank customer service rep which is alleged to be Morgan's cousin. But, that cousin used Morgan's account to gain access to accounts and send cash advance checks to their controlled addresses. When the cousin learned of the Citibank investigation, they implicated Morgan who implicated Myrick. The federal government and public defender Ron Hall are alleged by Myrick to have exploited and intimidated Myrick with a long sentence unless he cooperated to get indictments on Kansas City drug dealers. Lanardo Myrick showed CCA records that show he was transported to Kansas City's Federal courthouse for a non-court visit by Federal agents and several representatives of the US Attorney office. Myrick was reserved as to why he hadn't appealed his case. He explained that this is part of the Justice System that hurts African Americans the most. Morgan was sentenced Monday to one year and one day in federal prison without parole after pleading guilty to her role in the conspiracy on Oct. 1.
