Follow on Google News | The Trail to Taos By Marvin WallaceThe Trail to Taos Has It All! Into the harsh yet stunning landscape of Taos, New Mexico, comes Abel Spence, a young man looking for the person involved in his sister's death. The year is 1882. The rain came down hard and fast as it sometimes does in the high and normally dry northern part of the New Mexico territory. Gullies and arroyos soon became awash with the runoff that didn't have time to soak into the arid ground. These rains never lasted long, though, and posed no real danger to anyone familiar with those types of fast-moving thunderheads. The uninitiated travelers, though, who may choose to set up camp in an arroyo, thinking they had protection from the elements, usually realized too late as floodwaters surged through, inundating everything in its path. With danger around every corner, this emotionally charged Western follows Abel after he sets out from his farm in southern Colorado, only to end up in the middle of a volatile range war between two cattle ranchers. Abel's life also becomes entangled with two young ladies, one a rancher's daughter, and the other being pursued by a vicious saloon boss. There are also some elements of unexpected humor, adding real-life flavor to this story for enthusiasts of Westerns. About the Author: Marvin Wallace spent 20-plus years in law enforcement in Oregon. During that time, he took creative writing classes as electives in addition to his core classes, ultimately earning a master's degree in public administration from Portland State University. His writing classes spurred him to write poetry, both spiritual and secular, as well as novels of the Old West. Now retired and making his home in Alabama, he is able to devote more time to his passion for writing. The Trail to Taos is his second book; the first was Incident at Cat Canyon. "States the author, 'I enjoy making history come alive again in today's world,' and he certainly has succeeded in this Western gem. You will long remember The Trail to Taos." – Lynn Eddy, VP of Acquisitions, Strategic Book Publishing Publisher's Website: www.sbprabooks.com/ End
