ST. LOUIS - Jan. 11, 2024 - PRLog -- Continuity to host Set Basics Workshop on March 16th

ST. LOUS, MO - January 11, 2024 - The media industry is no exception when it comes to desiring a skilled and diverse workforce yet finding content creators, filmmakers, and crew members of different backgrounds, ethnicities, race, identities, and neurodivergence can be quite challenging. To help meet this demand, Continuity, a St. Louis-based non-profit celebrating 10 years of working in the local community, created a workshop series to teach people the basic skills and networking they need to start working in the media industry. Their mission is to expand diversity in media production through skills-based training, mentorship, and opportunities for untapped talent.

On Saturday, March 16th, Continuity will be kicking off the third year of their CREW workshop series with the Set Basics Workshop at Spot Content Studio in south St Louis City. The goal of the event is to demystify and spotlight the variety of roles on a production while jump-starting their career in the media industry. The all-day workshop is supported by MAC (Missouri Arts Council) and RAC (Regional Arts Commission) in partnership with the Missouri Film Office and provides 30 attendees an intense 10-hour day to learn from industry professionals about things like set etiquette, how a film/commercial set works, and how to find work. Attendance is by invitation only and those interested must submit an application online at bit.ly/setbasics2024 (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfcB2a2PN14-WfoI...).

Continuity expanded their Set Basics Workshop reach to Kansas City in November 2023 and has plans for another one in the coming months. Continuity is excited to be talking to other Missouri city entites anxious for the workshop series to come to them and to be a catalyst for growth statewide and beyond. As the film industry gains momentum in Missouri, Continuity remains committed to fostering inclusivity, workforce development, and community engagement. Their strategic partnerships with key production companies and film offices across the state underscore their dedication to creating a thriving and diverse film and media hub in the Midwest.
