Ukraine Seeks Switzerland's Help in Organizing Major Peace Conference

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - Jan. 15, 2024 - PRLog -- In a significant development towards resolving the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has requested Switzerland's assistance in organizing a high-level peace conference. The conference aims to bring together world leaders to discuss and potentially negotiate a resolution to the conflict.

Switzerland, known for its neutrality and history of hosting peace talks, is well-positioned to facilitate such a conference. The country has already hosted a meeting in October 2023, which was attended by around 70 countries from around the world, as well as the European Union (EU) and the UN. Russia was not present at the time.

The Ukrainian peace plan, also known as the "peace formula," was discussed at the meeting in Malta, and it foresees the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity, and the establishment of a special tribunal to prosecute Russian war crimes.

President Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Swiss President Viola Amherd and her team for agreeing to begin preparations for the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland at the level of leaders, starting on January 16, 2024. The exact date and location of the summit have not been announced yet.
