Tickets to Spark Joshi Trailblaze 2024 in the Philadelphia area goes on sale

PHILADELPHIA - Jan. 21, 2024 - PRLog -- PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - After a groundbreaking inaugural year as the first brand in the United States dedicated to importing Japanese women's pro wrestling, Spark Joshi Puroresu will hold Trailblaze 2024, a show at the Monster Factory near the "Mania Week" festivities in the Philadelphia area.

With a history tracing back to the 1940s, Japanese women's pro wrestling peaked in popularity during the 1970s, headlining with stars who were not only tough and impressive heroes in the ring but also chart-topping idols in Japanese pop music.

By the late 1990s, English-speaking fans in the internet wrestling community began to discover Japanese wrestling. A new niche in American wrestling fandom grew through a culture of VHS tape trading, recommendations from other wrestling fans, and five-star reviews of Japanese matches in pro wrestling newsletters. Since then, American talent of any gender would often study footage from Japan, which had become the place where many of the most innovative pro wrestling finishers in the US had originated from or were inspired by.

This year, with the WrestleCon convention and WWE's WrestleMania event taking place in Philadelphia, pro wrestling organizations from out of state, Japan, and others around the world, will gather in the region for events catering to the pro wrestling fanbase.

Spark Joshi Atlantic Champion, SAKI, and Pacific Champion, Ram Kaichow, will be joined by many other Japanese wrestlers to be announced.
