Concert Premiere of Music Soulstice: The Roots, Golden Age & Impact of Soul Music in America

 
SEATTLE - Jan. 25, 2024 - PRLog -- Auburn, WA - Global Heat, the acclaimed Soul/R&B fusion band from Seattle, will premiere their latest concert program Music Soulstice: The Roots, Golden Age & Impact of Soul Music in America on February 24, 2024 as part of the BRAVO Performing Arts Season. The concert will be at Green River College theatre in Cascade Hall, 12401 SE 320th St, Auburn, WA starting at 7:30 pm.

This special concert program Music Soulstice traces the roots, development, and influences of Soul music in America, from its Golden Age in the 1950s and 1960s, through its evolution into spin-off genres, all the way to contemporary popular music. Global Heat will perform the music of early Soul artists like Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and James Brown; the Motown sound of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder; through to R&B from Earth Wind and Fire, Bootsy Collins and others; and up to Michael Jackson, Prince, and contemporary artists like Lizzo, Anderson Paak, and Kendrick Lamar. Music Soulstice was developed with support from 4Culture/King County Lodging Tax, and from Global Artists Collective, Woodinville WA.

WHO IS GLOBAL HEAT

Fronted by the dynamic vocals of bassist & Musical Director Marvin Shields Jr, Arzelia "Z" Jones Jr, Jennifer "Lady J" Johnson, and MCs B-boy Fidget and Eddy P, Global Heat showcases a rich musical heritage as well as their original music. Joining the vocalists are guitarist Tim Mitchell, saxophonist Scott Adams, keyboardist Rob Pastorok, and drummer Dale Catlett, son of the revered jazz bassist Buddy Catlett.

In addition to their West coast and international touring experience, members of Global Heat have worked with notable acts like Black Eyed Peas, Gorillaz, Con Funk Shun, Kanda Bongo Man, Roger Fisher (co-founder Heart), and members of Rock Steady Crew and Massive Monkees.
