Nurse Practitioner Ellen Poage joins Precision Healthcare Specialists

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Jan. 29, 2024 - PRLog -- Precision Healthcare Specialists has grown its team in Southwest Florida with the addition of Ellen Poage, APRN, MPH, CLT-LANA. Poage is a nurse practitioner and lymphedema specialist with nearly 30 years of experience.

Poage, who collaborates with Dr. Lea Blackwell in Precision Healthcare Specialists' Fort Myers office, helps improve early diagnosis and prevention of lymphedema for breast cancer patients in Southwest Florida. She also sees patients with lymphedema from other causes, including melanoma, head and neck cancer, gynecological surgeries, primary lymphedema, lipedema and venous insufficiency. Poage works with patients to reduce swelling, fibrosis and pain, as well as improve range of motion after surgery through therapeutic modalities such as manual lymph drainage, myofascial release, vibration, cupping and microcurrent point stimulation.

Prior to joining Precision Healthcare Specialists, Poage was a nurse practitioner and lymphedema therapist with Blackwell Breast Surgery. She also has experience as director of lymphedema management with Rehabilitation Associates of Naples and lymphedema massage therapist with her own practice. Poage is certified by the Lymphology Association of North America.

Poage earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Latin American studies and urban geography from the University of Tennessee, a Diploma in nursing from the Touro School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Excelsior University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Dhaka and a Master of Nursing in nursing education from Florida Gulf Coast University. She also was certified in acupuncture through the University of Miami.

Poage sees patients at Precision Healthcare Specialists' office at 13691 Metro Parkway, Suite 300, in Fort Myers.
