ShySpeaks Presents 'Hidden Heroes' On Several Ohio College Campuses

DALLAS - Feb. 1, 2024 - PRLog -- Black History Month is here, and ShySpeaks has something extraordinary planned to honor this celebration. 'Hidden Heroes', is a dedicated event that aims to shed light on the unsung African American heroes and pioneers through various mediums such as conversations, video storytelling, performances, and an auxiliary student component. This initiative comprises two programs, allowing colleges the flexibility to choose between the two options.

One track, Hidden Heroes: A BHM Experience', will showcase talented student artists who excel in dancing, singing, and reciting poetry and monologues from famous poets and actors of the Afro-diaspora. By showcasing Black history through art, ShySpeaks emphasizes the importance of art as a political tool, as it has been throughout history with figures like Langston Hughes, Lena Horne, and Paul Robeson.

The second option is Hidden Heroes: A BHM Open Mic Night, featuring a 30-minute performance by ShySpeaks and her DJ, J Lex.. This open mic night provides an opportunity for individuals to showcase their talents and be part of the celebration. Welcoming everyone to join and celebrate Black History Month.
