Archiware releases P5 Data Management Software version 7.2 featuring S3 Object Archive

MUNICH - Feb. 5, 2024 - PRLog -- Archiware GmbH, expert in data management software, releases version 7.2 of its P5 Data Management software, including:

• S3 Object Archive to LTO and LTFS storage via the S3 interface
• Server-wide incremental archiving using INC+ archive
• Filter-based query and job history in the P5 Data Mover
• Positional search in the Archive Index
• NanoPure LTO media support, certified by MagStor

A cutting-edge feature is the S3 Object Archive, which allows external products to access the power and flexibility of archiving to LTO and LTFS storage with the P5 Archive module. Compatible with Amazon S3 Glacier Flexible and Deep Archive storage classes, objects received via the S3 interface are archived with full management of tapes, drives, and libraries. Third-party software, including MAM, DAM, and PAM systems, can now effortlessly archive data, also to LTO tape, using their own S3 client interface.

Server-wide incremental archiving is facilitated with an enhanced INC+ archive. This feature optimizes the tracking of changing projects, as large amounts of data may be relocated to different storage volumes without requiring re-saving by the archive. Additionally, the search functionality in the backup and archive index is streamlined by targeting a directory subtree, which ensures faster and more precise results.

The latest version also expands on archive index functionalities in the P5 Data Mover, which now enables the configuration of a data migration based on an arbitrary query. This way, data can be migrated according to specific directories, contents, or metadata fields. Large and lengthy migration operations to be monitored using the new job history feature.
