Vaughn Appointed to the Special Olympics Nevada Board of DirectorsBy: Snell & Wilmer Special Olympics Nevada (SONV) is a nonprofit organization that offers free year-round training and competition programs for 2,653 athletes who compete in more than 14 competitions in 7 sports annually within the Community Sports Program. In 2022, SONV launched a new program, Mindset Matters, which provides mental health and stress management techniques to students in Nevada schools. SONV is also committed to improving the overall health and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilities through Healthy Athletes events, offering screenings and services free of charge. SONV relies on the support of 759 volunteers and funding from individuals, organizations, corporations, and foundations. Vaughn focuses her practice on real estate, operations, and corporate matters. She advises on property related legal issues, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating leases and lease related documents, listing agreements, and commission agreements. Her experience includes non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, purchase and sale and finance agreements and vendor and service contracts. She has practiced law for more than 25 years, with an emphasis on commercial real estate. Most recently, she served as General Counsel for Gemini Rosemont Commercial Real Estate and previously as the General Counsel for the Miracle Mile Shops on the Las Vegas strip where she simultaneously served as the General Manager of the property. Vaughn has a long history of volunteering for Special Olympics Nevada. She has been a swimming coach for the organization since 2016. Vaughn has also been a Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada board member since 2023.
