By: CIMdata Products of all kinds are becoming much more complex. This is characterized by increasingly intricate autonomous operations and the need to improve environmental impact. The integration of electronic components is driving the rapid advancement of affordable sensing capabilities into products. For this to be achievable, virtual engineering strategies require the support of a digitalized ecosystem that understands a mechanical structure point of view (PDM) and an application management view (ALM). Combining these aspects leads to systems operations with continuous feedback supporting product upgrades after mass production. This webinar will present the importance of understanding why and how PDM and ALM are becoming systems-focused as products evolve into systems of systems. Attendees at this webinar will:
According to Craig Brown, a CIMdata Executive Consultant and the host for this webinar, "Many organizations CIMdata works with today are actively moving their product strategies from a concentration on mechanical aspects to much more complex systems—such as the electrification of all kinds of products. Operational feedback driving product enhancements is happening at a faster and faster pace. Expansive PDM & ALM are advancing virtual engineering strategies and are key to realizing the full potential of multi-domain systems development." Before joining CIMdata, Craig Brown spent 30 years at GM where he was responsible for PLM Portfolio Planning and held assignments in embedded software, systems engineering, CAE Methods, and process improvement. During this time, he led engineering and IT teams in developing tools to improve product and manufacturing engineering. These teams received patents, engineering awards, and records of invention, including using OnStar® to monitor and report vehicle diagnostics. Prior to joining GM, he spent 12 years in the Aerospace/Defense industry focused on control systems and tools to help develop systems for guidance, navigation and control, and signal processing systems. He was a member of the team that invented VHDL and led one of the first commercial tool applications. This webinar will be pertinent and valuable to people from multiple levels of an organization. During the webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about the topics discussed. To find out more, visit https://www.cimdata.com/ End
