Adelaide to Perth in 7 days, Team It's a Rental, supported by Wiper Blades Direct, sets off on the Shitbox Rally – Autumn 2024

ADELAIDE, Australia - March 16, 2024 - PRLog -- The team "It's a Rental," supported by Wiper Blades Direct, is preparing for a remarkable journey as they join a convoy of teams in the Shitbox Rally, a prominent fundraiser organized independently in Australia for the Cancer Council.

Shitbox Rally is not just a race; it's a bold adventure where drivers navigate cars worth $1,500 or less across Australia, conquering some of its roughest roads to aid cancer research. Since starting in 2010, this remarkable rally has generated more than $42 million for the cause.

In order to take part, teams are required to raise at least $5,000, aiming for a total target of $2 million for the rally.

Team member Rob Overend says, "It's our second time doing the Shitbox Rally, but this will be our toughest route by far. Our trusty 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer is going to go through some challenges she didn't expect to be doing at her age, but we've got faith that our skills, our playlists and our mechanics will get us across the finish line. Cancer has sadly been connected to both our families, and it's an honour to be raising money for such a great cause. We're keen to 'rally' as much support as we can to reach and hopefully surpass our fundraising goal, and we're grateful to have Wiper Blades Direct on board to help us do just that."

Commencing in Adelaide, our adventure begins with a 3-day pilgrimage following the Oodnadatta Track towards Uluru, passing Kata Tjuta, and venturing into the Gibson Desert. We then journey along the Great Central Road towards the Southwest until we reach Perth, our ultimate destination. This trip from Adelaide to Perth is our second, with only two of the original stopovers included this time. The route features additional unsealed roads, posing a challenging test for both vehicles and drivers.
