SEWELL, N.J. - March 31, 2024 - PRLog -- OHanlon submitted over 80 signatures to qualify for the Democratic primary ballot, well exceeding the 50-signature requirement. However, Milam challenged the validity of several signatures in an attempt to remove OHanlon from the ballot. An independent review found Milam's challenges to be baseless, confirming that OHanlon had far surpassed the number of valid signatures needed.

"The actions taken by Mr. Milam demonstrate a lack of integrity and fair play that voters should find deeply concerning," said OHanlon. "Rather than supporting a fair democratic process and allowing the voters to choose, Milam tried to take away people's choice before they even had a chance to make it. This type of corruption and backroom politics is exactly what's wrong with our political system today."

OHanlon called on Milam to resign from his position as Chairperson due to undermining the democratic process and abusing his power to influence an election. OHanlon also demanded a formal apology and commitment to fair elections from the Washington Township Democratic Committee leadership.

"The voters of Washington Township deserve free and fair elections," OHanlon said. "I entered this race to give people an alternative to politics as usual, and I will not back down in the face of corrupt tactics meant to maintain the status quo."

OHanlon pledged that, if elected, he would implement new ethics rules to prevent this type of corruption, increase transparency in government, and restore people's faith in the democratic process. OHanlon will face off against incumbent Mayor Laurie Burns in the Democratic primary on June 4, 2024.

OHanlon, a retired CEO, has vowed to revitalize the Black Horse Pike through his own Michelangelo Project, which is said to include the demolishing of the Denny's on Rt 168 and a total beautification of the Black Hose Pike.  More information can be found on his campaign's website:  https://ohanlonformayor.com
