Astronomical Events Art Shows

PRLog -- As the final events of its Community STEM Program's celebration of the April 8
th solar eclipse Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Link Inc. (SEM Link) is hosting Astronomical Events Art Shows. The art shows held in partnership with the Fulton Public Library System and the City of Douglasville Park and Recreation Department features the art of the winners for each county of the Astronomical Events Art Contest that SEM Link held in February for Douglas and Fulton County youth in grades 3-12. "The art contest and art shows are a perfect opportunity for youth that are interested in both art and STEM to explore both; especially since STEM illustration as well as artists who art feature STEM in their work are becoming more popular. I am so excited to have the students showcase their art as well as have the come out to community support for these young artists," states Ms. Tokiwa T. Smith SEM Link Founder and Executive Director.
The art shows are divided into 3 age categories: Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8 and Grades 9-12. The students will showcase drawing, paintings or computer aided illustrations featuring images of astronomical events. Two students per age group selected as winners at the show and will receive prizes. The art shows will take place on the following dates:
