Ángela Carrasco began her career as one of a group of Latin American female vocal icons in the 1970s that included Susana Gimenez, Charytin, Iris Chacon, and Ednita Nazario. She played Mary Magdalen together with Camilo Sesto in the first Spanish version of Jesus Christ Superstar in the mid-1970s, recording "No se como amarle" and "No, no hay nadie mas", which quickly became massive hits. She went on to create "Cariño Mio" and "Quererte a Ti", which became some of her most popular songs, giving her global success across Latin America, the United States, and Europe. In 1985 she released the album, 'Dama del Caribe', and in 1988 the album 'Boca Rosa'. In 1993, Carrasco earned the Lo Nuestro Award for Tropical Female Artist of the Year. In 2015 Ángela Carrasco was honored with the Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2023 she re-released her hit albums, Unidos (Remastered) End
