Ryder, who turned 17 on April 19, began racing go-karts at age nine after seeing a video on YouTube. Since then, he's won in micro sprints, pro trucks and will now represent Seaboard Controls in a late-model stock car for Mike Darne Racing. He recognizes his hard work is paying off and this move is a proud moment and a big step in his racing career. "I am very appreciative and thankful for Mr. Muro and everyone at Seaboard Controls for having faith in me to represent them and go racing with me on the track," Ryder said. "This is a big step for both of us, and I intend to make them proud by parking their logo in victory lane." Ryder's first race in a late-model will take place on May 11 at Tri-County Speedway, a 4/10-mile asphalt track in the NASCAR Home Track family. When not behind the wheel of a racecar, Ryder will work in Darne's race shop and help other drivers as a crew member at the track.
