Cordially invited to celebrate community excellence and leadership at the 2nd Annual Black Door Society Community of Excellence Awards Luncheon. The event will take place on Saturday, June 22, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Martin's Crosswinds.

Event Highlights:
  • Red Carpet Interviews: Kick off at noon. Experience the excitement of live interviews and capture the spirit of the occasion with community leaders and honorees.
  • Awards Luncheon: Starting promptly at 12:30 PM, enjoy a delicious lunch buffet while celebrating the achievements of our distinguished honorees. The ceremony will be accompanied by live music and a festive atmosphere encouraging all to dance and revel in the accomplishments being recognized.

  • Nick Charles: Maryland State Senator - Receiving the Community Leadership Elevation Award.
  • Shawn Yancy: NBC4 News Anchor/Founder of Girl's Night Out - Receiving the Community Empowerment & Sustainability Award.
  • Natalie and Derrica Wilson: Founders of the Black and Missing Foundation - Receiving the Community Trailblazing Champions Award.
  • Walter Kirkland: Founding Charter President of 100 Black Men of Prince George's County - Legacy Mentorship Achievement Award.
  • Larry Laws: Founder/CEO of First Home Alliance - Receiving the Veteran Homefront Hero Award.
  • Martin Ezemma: Director of International Business at Prince George's Economic Development Corporation - Receiving the Global Business Acceleration Award.
