TOMS RIVER, N.J. - May 16, 2024 - PRLog -- HOPE Sheds Light (HSL), a family-focused, non-profit organization, recently hosted its 4th Annual Golf Outing at Pine Barrens Golf Club in Jackson. The sold-out event was sponsored in part by Woodhaven Lumber and Manasquan Bank.

"The day was a huge success," said Pamela Capaci, CEO of HSL. "We are deeply grateful for the continued support of the community including our sponsors, board members, volunteers and golfers for helping us spread the HOPE of recovery."

Cloudy skies didn't dampen the excitement of the day with over 124 golfers in attendance, the outing opened with registration, lunch and time on the driving range, followed by a Shotgun Start/Scramble Format. Dinner and awards immediately followed the outing. The event also featured a putting contest, longest drive contest, beat the pro contest and closest to the pin contest. All proceeds benefited the mission of HSL.

HSL continues to grow and evolve, raising awareness and educating individuals, families and the community about the impact of substance use disorder in Ocean and Monmouth Counties and beyond. Through peer-to-peer coaching and support groups, wellness programs, youth programs and educational programs for the whole family, HSL strives to reduce stigma in order to make way for new outcomes.

Founded in 2012 after co-founder Ron Rosetto lost his son Marc to a hard-fought battle against substance abuse, HSL acts as a voice of hope in a community in desperate need of knowing that recovery is possible. Along with Co-founders Arvo Prima and Stephen Willis, and a team of board members and volunteers, HSL aims to shed light into the shadows of stigma and fear.

"We believe that putting a familiar face to addiction through the sharing of our stories, we are sending a new message… one that hope carries to you and your family, which says: 'You are not alone, and people can and do recover'," said Capaci. "We are passionate about helping anyone in need, and we have expanded this organization to provide those individuals and their families with the resources and education they need to find hope for a future free from substance use disorder."

Looking to the future, HSL will host its 11th Annual Celebration of HOPE Walk on September 7, 2024 on the Hiering Avenue Beach in Seaside Heights. Please check HOPEShedsLight.org to register.
