Ground Handling Innovations Major Draw at Airport Show

Over 30 innovators debuted their cutting-edge technologies, drawing thousands of trade visitors and stakeholders.

Ground handling and air navigation service providers received a strong response. Global Air Navigation Services (GANS) showcased its capabilities in heliport engineering and helipad systems. In the GSE Zone, dnata highlighted innovations in ground handling equipment, including Mallaghan's EURO 6 technology trucks, reducing emissions by 80% compared to EURO 5 standards, and the 'Tisabas Operation,' a folding baggage conveyor system designed to prevent injuries and reduce damage to aircraft and baggage. Dnata also presented a towbarless electric tractor for aircraft towing.

Smiths Detection introduced the SDX 10060 XDi, a security screening system using X-ray Diffraction (XRD) for precise object detection, enhancing security and operational efficiency in baggage and cargo screening.

The Airport Show 2024 hosted a panel discussion titled "Elevating Passenger Experience: Investing in Innovation to Capture Traveler Hearts." Amid industry changes, the session emphasized the importance of passenger experience and innovation. Industry leaders shared insights on enhancing passenger experience through innovative solutions and technologies.

Moderated by Dr. Nikhil Kilpady of Frost & Sullivan, the panel featured experts like Nagy Abu Zeid from Oman Airports, Alpros Mohammad Hamzouq from Airport International Group, Anurag Shandilya from Noida International Airport, Ismail Issa from Emirates Group, and Ioana Apintei from AirportLabs.
